How to Play
Click your piece to select, then click a target square to move. Pawns can be promoted when reaching the back rank. Checkmate the opponent's king to win.
Objective
Players take turns moving pieces. The goal is to checkmate the opponent's king — put it under attack with no escape. Each piece type moves differently; use tactics and strategy to defeat your opponent. AI uses a built-in opening book (Italian, Spanish, Sicilian, etc.) and switches king evaluation table in endgame.
Controls
• Click your piece to select it (legal moves are highlighted) • Click a target square to complete the move • Pawns can be promoted to Queen/Rook/Bishop/Knight at the back rank • Special moves supported: castling, en passant, pawn promotion • vs AI / 2 Players: switch in settings • Undo reverts the last move • White moves first
Tips & Strategy
• In the opening, develop minor pieces (knights, bishops) and control the center • Castle early to protect your king • Don't bring the queen out too early — it can be attacked by minor pieces • Know piece values: Queen > Rook > Bishop/Knight > Pawn • Hard (depth 4) and Expert (depth 5) use quiescence search and transposition table • Expert uses 2s iterative deepening + TT, close to club player strength
